What's a Survivability Badge?
It's a special icon that shows up in your Survival Profile. The badge shows everyone else that you've demonstrated a particular Superstruct Power. It also adds points to your overall Survivability Score.
What's my Survivability Score?
Your Survivability Score is a number between 0 and 100 that appears in your Survival Profile.
When you first join, you have a score of 0. Each Survivability Badge you earn improves your overall Survivability Score. Some badges improve it more than others.
Any score higher than zero means you personally are becoming more and more important to the survival of the species.
If you earn all 10 badges, you'll have a score of 100, which means you personally are absolutely central to the future of the human race.
How do I earn the badges?
You can earn your first badge--"High Ping Quotient"--by completing your Survival Profile.
To earn the rest, you'll have to and .
What's makes something badge-worthy? It's simple – it's badge-worthy if it really shows off a concrete example of one of the ten Superstruct Powers in action.
These powers are new to the world – our superstruct SEHIs are really the first people anywhere to develop them. So be creative and show us what YOU think these powers mean. Try anything that captures what you think might work!
We're especially interested in your examples of:
Extreme-scale collaboration
Bioempathic Leadership
FOXP2
Stigmergy
Mesh2Mesh Identity
So feel free to use any or all of these 21st Century Ideas as inspiration… and surprise and amaze us with what you say and invent. We can't wait to see how YOU decide to put these Superstruct Powers into action!
Who decides if I've earned a badge?
All badges are awarded by our Superthreat Guides. They'll be paying close attention to everything you write and create. Whenever they see something especially important or useful or interesting, they'll make sure that the SEHIs who wrote it or created it earn a badge. If you think the guides have missed something badge-worthy, use the form at the top of this page to tell us!
How will I know if I've earned a badge?
If you've signed up for email notifications, you'll get an email with the good news. If you have email notifications turned off, you'll see your new badge in your Survival Profile the next time you log in.
Do I have to earn the badges in a certain order?
Nope. You can earn badges in any order.

Is there a limit to how many people can earn a particular Survivability Badge?
There's no limit on the regular Survivability Badges. In theory, it's possible that every SEHI could earn all 10 badges. But that's very unlikely. Some of the badges are much more challenging to earn than others, and so we expect them to be awarded much more rarely.
Once I've earned a badge, can I do anything to earn more of that same badge?
Yes. There is a "super-version" of each badge. They're the "Super-Badges", and they're very difficult to earn.
What's a Super-Badge?
There is a "super-version" of each Superstruct badge that will only be awarded to 10 SEHIs, ever. These super-badges recognize the individuals we really, truly don't think the human species will survive without. Here's what the Super-Badges look like:
How do I earn a Super-Badge?
Take on a leadership role in facing a superthreat, and do something amazing. We're new at this whole Superstruct thing, so we're not exactly sure what "amazing" will look like yet – but we're pretty sure we'll know amazing when we see it. In fact, we're certain that you'll know amazing when you make it. So tell a story that makes the world wake up and pay attention. Organize a strategy discussion that captures incredible, eye-opening wisdom. Invent a superstruct that we never could have imagined, and do it on an extreme scale. That's the kind of surviving together that will earn one of the 100 Super-Badges.
Q: What does a gold diamond by your SEHI name mean, and how can I earn one?
A: If someone has a gold diamond, it means they were a Fast-Response SEHI--a founding member of the Superstruct community who signed up in the first 24 hours of the crisis. That's a special honor just for the "first arrivers"!
