Biowarfare Claims in Pakistan-India Tensions
The Singapore-based Straits Times reports rumors that guerilla groups have begun to use asymptomatic ReDS carriers as "biobombs," bringing the highly-contagious -- and often deadly -- disease to rural communities previously untouched by the pathogen. It's unclear which side adopted this tactic first, but it's evident that such guerilla biowarfare is underway on both sides of the border. Military experts fear that this tactic may spread to other regions.
The Times reports that Indian and Pakistani governments will issue a joint statement condemning the tactic, regardless of who is using it, saying that it "only brings misery to us all."
