  • Who We Need
    We are looking for people dedicated to their own sustainability and helping others in their area become sustainable.  We need people from all regions of the world to build NSA hubs where they can provide people with starter seed kits of heirloom seeds which are known to propogate well in the area.  We also need people to provide regular information about their annual growth cycle and how its being affected by external factors (climate change, industry).  In this way we can begin processing the data and arrive at solutions which will replenish the soil and support local sustainable food production.

  • Mission

    NSA is a network of local hubs for practicing sustainable food growth.  Hubs are started by individuals knowledgable in their local ecology specifically around agriculture and cultivation, but also in other areas such as, sustainable energy sources, and relay networks.  The main focus however is on turning the local area into a sustainable hub, by teaching local individuals how to provide for their own food needs, either by growing themselves or by working with others growing in the network.

    By using these local hubs as barometers for the local affects of climate change and other environmental threats on the ecology and the agriculture, a larger picture of global health can be created, which can be used to strategize extending the reach of NSA beyond the hubs to other regions in need.

    We take to heart the old saying "Think Globally, Act Locally."  The solutions needed, particularly around the ravenous superthreat are local ones not global ones.  By providing each individual with the resources they need to live sustainably, as the NSA reaches a critical mass, the global affects will have exponential reach.

  • What we can accomplish
    • On a local level each hub can work to face the challenges of their region to ensure that there are sustainable resources for those that so desire them.  Even further each hub can monitor and observe their local ecology and sharing their resources strategize ways to offset negative affects to ensure the areas ability to provide for its own food needs.  As individual regions conquor hurdles a pool of strategies are created for handling tese issues on a global level.  We see the biggest part of the ravenous threat as being related to soil depletion.  Rejuvinating the soil to a sustainable level isn\'t something that can be managed in a broad stroke.  Each region has their own issues related to soil depletion and thus must be dealt with individually.  By sharing the results of that individual work the collective goal can be accomplished.
  • How this superstruct works
    • Our main focus will be on creating a series of Google Earth layers which give information about local ecologies from a sustainable perspective.  Come to this superstruct if you have knowledge about your region particularly around its agriculture.  We\'re looking for people with seeds and resources for growing sustainably in their region.  As we add hubs to our Google Earth layer information about those hubs will be added.  The more hubs the more information.  The more information, the better equipped we are to manage food production locally on a global level.
