Coming Together

"Major Hospitals combine resources with Disaster Prepardness Services"
jacquie

Hospitals across Minnesota have joined together to combine resources and identify services in conjunctions with the state's Disaster Prepardness office. Each hospital has developed a list of equipment, health services, personnel, specialist, and nutritional resources which has been dispursed throughout the state to all health care facilities. These lists have also been shared with the Disaster Preparedness department. The state is using the lists to develop treatment zones and identify where patients with ReDS can be treated. Mobilization teams using personnel from all of the health care facilities have been created and specific hospitals have been designated as ReDS treatment facilities. Local food banks, restaurants, food service programs have banded together, along with the healthcare facilities to inventory current food supply levels and have formed regional food mobilization stations. Minnesotans throughout the state have been encouraged to band together and farm as a community, as much "plantable" vegetation as possible. Ensuring adequate nutrition plus education from health care workers on "respiratory hygiene practices" will help to prevent the spread of ReDS through out the state.
