Update from an energy conscious teacher

Guatemala to recieve Green Plant
PinkSparkle

Hello everyone, this is 2nd grade teacher PinkSparkle reporting from sunny California. During our most recent conference call with our other gUN locations, we have discovered that there has been progress made regarding our assistance in another underdeveloped country desiring to join our green movement. We have raised enough money to build a new Green-energy plant in Guatemala, a country which has been struggling to incorporate some of our green technologies. Many thanks go out to Canada's recent fundraiser which helped close the financial gap, allowing the fund goal to be reached. Construction is planned to begin in about a month.

Meanwhile, here in Cali, I am loving my second grade class this year. Some of the children are just hilarious, and all are completely adorable (most of the time!). I've already told them about gUN and I've started implementing some energy-saving tips into my regular lesson plans. I use energy-efficiency in everything, even math! When creating word problems for them to work on, I'll say something like "If you took a shower yesterday and used 10 gallons of water, and today you took a shower and used 8, how many gallons of water did you save?" Teaching them about conservation of resources and energy is pretty simple. They may not understand every single term or concept I mention, but at least it's in their heads!
