What we have. Oil, Coal, Natural Gas, Oil Shale, Hydroelectric, Nuclear Power, Growing Wind, Growing Solar, Growing Geothermal . . . And garbage to energy and fuel. Accept the trash (old new and ongoing) as here to stay and use it as fuel and power source. Nuclear waste. (old, new and ongoing) It radiates decay heat for hundreds of years. Decay heat that will be there no matter what we do. Tap it with thermo couples and generate electricity. Do everything we can, everywhere we can. More power to more people means more more clean water, better hygene, more jobs, less hunger, less disease, more food production.

bastiat88 - how would you prioritize efforts to utilize these varying resources?

Immediately exploit as much of what we have as possible. Immediately simplfy to one fuel. High efficiency diesel whenever possible, and a single grade of gasoline. Stop producing vehicles that run on anything other than those 2 fuels. This will lower and simplify production costs, times and increase production location possibilities and increase effciency from supply to market. immediately begin integration of heat energy capture from nuclear waste to put continual free energy into the grid, lowering costs and allowing for additional services. Use savings and efficiency to finalaze technology for garbage to fuel and algae to fuel.

\\\"Immediately exploit as much of what we have as possible.\\\" I assume this includes coal. If we immediately exploit it and other petroleum sources without regard to pollution control, won\\\'t that adversely impact the environment? Is that not an issue? And if pollution *is* an issue which must be overcome, how do we exploit it more quickly? \\\"High efficiency diesel whenever possible, and a single grade of gasoline. Stop producing vehicles that run on anything other than those 2 fuels.\\\" Why do oil and transportation companies not *already* do this if standardization is so cost-efficient? \\\"begin integration of heat energy capture from nuclear waste to put continual free energy into the grid, lowering costs and allowing for additional services\\\" How much energy, as a percentage of what we use worldwide, would this technology provide? What are the projections? And is this a more worthy investment than other options?
