Bugs and errors with the superstruct site

A lot of people have recently been complaining about problems reaching the Data in this site. Some cannot reach certain superstruct pages. Others have reported that certain functions don't work. I do not know how to contact the site moderators for bug reports, so I'm starting this conversation so people can share the problems they've had using this site.

Time is limited for checking posts and networking via the Nets. We have a lot of work to do at Gypsy Farms. I\\\'m finding that this type of communication is a low priority, and dropping. It seems to me that the revolutions that will save us are going to happen offline. However, this site remains a good source for ideas that we can implement locally. It\\\'s too bad that I can\\\'t join or access other Superstructs, but I have to get over it fast.

I\\\'ve also noticed some superstructs that seem designed to increase chaos, violence, the forces of falling apart. I wonder if these are posted with malicious intent or simply without consciousness of their possible effect. The point is moot, though. What\\\'s useful is useful and offline communication is key to determining the right direction to go.

I think some griefers have got ahold of the javascript code here, because the \\\'search\\\' and \\\'show all\\\' functions frequently do not seem to work. Also, many links in the superstructure profiles have been corrupted, either by rogue hackers or possibly just the pervasive bit rot we always see. ReDS hasn\\\'t jumped from humans to silicon, has it?

Hey do you see those backslash characters, what is that? Escaping apostrophes and quotes or something. Weird science, guys.

Might just be traffic levels due to the recent advent of Superstructs. Remember Occam\\\'s Razor.

Well, some of it in terms of load times and the like. The rest might just be sloppy code.

It makes sense to start to organize some offline meet ups. The convenience of online needs to be balanced out with the accountability of an offline, analog engagement. How to start to engage that on a larger scale for a bank\\\'s client list etc?

What site isn\\\'t under attack? ReDSNet is getting beaten to a bloody pulp by external forces, and we haven\\\'t even launched the processor yet!

Related to this we must decide what to do when this site DOES inevitably come under attack by giefers and others.

Agreed, part of the story line is meant to act as an inoculation for precisely this sort of thing. Time to figure out a solution.

Is there a way to see all available stories, discussions, superstructures? Has this been hacked?

Is it hackers or just old-fashioned imperfect design? You\\\'d have thought that the people who poured petaflops of processing into the GEAS could put together a workable website, but there are too many issues with the navigation of pages here to believe that its all down to malicious intervention. I fear it will discourage people from getting involved with this vital project.

The problems with the actual site could be in fact more attributive to the actual health of the global infrastructure. Problematic attacks on various server hosts and varied epidemics of malware intrusions have risen exponentially. Several ISPs have also been complaining of unknown anomalies found within their server mainframes which could be indicative of attempts to lay the foundations for a future attack.

I noticed this morning that my recent writing: New School of Interdisciplinary Learning, has changed dramatically from my account of an experience the other day witht he problems surrounding WorldVu. It now almost seems like an advertisement for WorldVu.

There are plenty of people involved with these projects that could help find and fix these errors, but access doesn\\\'t seem to be available...

This site is getting bombarded; in order to ease the stress on it, several of us are creating external sources of information in order to offload some of the burden. We have forums already ( http://forums.sstruct.com/ ), and more external tools under the "sstruct.com" domain will be coming soon.

Curious how "do you think hackers get a fair representation" is inaccessible. Coincidence? Or cunning propaganda?

A number of interesting and potentially valuable projects seem to have been removed from the web site! Is this griefing? Or is GEAS trying to censor our ideas for dealing with these problems? (If so, it could end up having serious ramification! We need every idea we've got here even if some pie-in-the-sky technocrat doesn't think they're 'appropriate'!)

Any research organization announcing the upcoming collapse of civilization and/or the extinction of Homo sapiens was bound to be the target of severe griefing, as well as possible bioweaponry (http://www.superstructgame.net/StoryView/260). We at Super-infra-struct are doing all we can to decentralize the work of GEAS and SEHIs to supporting superstructures. Please visit the Complaints Department (http://superstruct.wikia.com/wiki/Complaints_Department) with your problems, frustrations, and creative solutions. Together, we can solve the GEAS Griefing infrathreat.

I would suggest that the site maintainer look at linuxquestions.org as an example of a stable multi-user, multi-topic web forum

Hi All! My Names Candy and I love to get know you better! Grief right into my pants if your man enough! www.manlaxatives.com

The ///... is creating too much noise. Jacking out now.

The navigation between screens is so badly handled, it takes me forever to move between screens to where I want to go. The site's design is preventing us from actually doing what they want us to do. Maybe better luck with SuperStruct 2.0 in a year or two?

the join button on my bright green superstruct does not appear for some people who are triing to join the group. Groups are almost useless also because there is no way to message people in your group. I tried to send letters around waiting for each members page to load and it only let me send like ten. I have 49 members! I understand that these are all just work arounds, it would be helpful to make it easier to monitor group activity.

As usual, when I feel attacked, upon introspection, I find that most of it is my fault. For example, I just spent about three hours creating a superstruct of my dreams, hit the submit button and it was gone. I didn't heed the note on the page that the server might time out. I didn't copy the entry fields to save my work, in case of a problem with the superstruct site, which I knew was a beta work-in-progress. I wasn't mindful enough of the process. Now I'm discouraged and await a new day when I might revive.

How do we know that this discussion isn't a huge error?
